How to sample oil multiple times without draining?

Umm... Yes please!! That Fumoto valve is something else. I'd be especially cautious about putting it on any car that sat close to the ground. One of those first links on Google is a warning of my very initial thought. It very well might ruin your oil pan one way or another.

    New walmart oil selections!

Why would you want PU, when you can get PP for $22 / 5qt jug?? I stopped by another Walmart, and they had pretty much the same selection as everybody else has posted. The only thing that I didn't notice was the "Trop Arctic" 5w-30. There was a few different 0w-20 oils, but I originally thought...

Which oil is good for my nissan versa?

Purolator PureOne filters are supposed to be the best. Getting a filter with the greatest amount of filtration (99.9%) is probly more important than what oil you choose. I would think that either a 15w-40 or a 20w-50 would be fine during the summer. But a 10w-40 would be preferred during the...

    What oil for 97 Volvo 850 & 08 Corolla in 100 deg?

skyship, I said which engine the Volvo had in the first post -- 2.4L, non-turbo. I looked on the Castrol Guide, and the 2.4L is not mentioned. That guide is clearly not designed for American automobiles, as I'm fairly certain a 2.0L was never released in America. Anyway... I took a look at...

    electric car for commuting

There's a LARGE number of solutions, but they don't all need to take the oil out of your life... (1) Take a bicycle, tricyle, folder, recumbent, you name it.... and strap a motor on it. This is a guide I wrote years back when I was learning how to do it myself. I've got a 4-stroke 33cc Robin...

What shall I use, wise men?

I've been hypermiling before hypermiling was cool [and had a cool name to be identified by]. When driving along a highway in which I knew I'd be stopping, I would punch it, giving it just enough oomph to get me to the next stop light, cut the engine off.... coast an 1/8 or 1/4 of a mile, or...

When Does Oil clunk up and become like pudding ?

I've only ever seen pudding come out of a "retired" Chevy work truck that hadn't seen an oil change in close to 5 years. Sad thing is that the guy who owned the truck actually rebuilt motors before and has taught a few people how to maintain their own vehicles. He likely wouldn't have even...

    New walmart oil selections!

I actually walked down my local Walmart's oil aisle the other day when with some friends, and I was taking a bit longer than usual. They had so many 0w-XX and 5w-XX weights that I was just having a hard time soaking it all in. Not sure if they had the Havoline 0w-20 and the Royal Purple, tho...
