In America according to owners manual either 0W-20 or 5W-20 oil is acceptable. OW-20 is recommended in extreme cold. During normal weather and normal operation both are a 20 weight oil and perform identical. Both can be used interchangeably for normal conditions.

Makes me wonder why Ford still uses 5W-20? From everything I've ever seen on here OW-20 can replace 5W-20. Why even make 5W-20 oil if OW-20 is virtually identical at operating temperature and better flow at cold temperature? Seems GM just doesn't even bother with 5W-20 oils.

My thoughts was if the T&S oil has 10% more detergents to reduce deposits or eliminate they from ever occuring then this oil is basically high mileage oil without the additives that soften and condition engine seals.
