Summary of the USS Fitzgerald collision in 2017

Deployed/underway back in the 80's on a Spruance class in Engineering, you were doing quite well to get 4 hours sleep a day. I have no doubt whatsoever things have gotten worse for a variety of reasons.

Have you stressed out about what oil to use?

Heavens no! Why is this even a question? Buy whatever blows your hair back and meets/exceeds your vehicle's specs as set forth by the manufacturer and take your woman out for supper.

Summary of the USS Fitzgerald collision in 2017

Incredibly tragic. It is easy to see things have gotten worse since I got out in 1992.

MT: Ranger vs. Colorado vs. Tacoma vs. Ridgeline Test

Don't care what MT, or anyone else says. I like my new Colorado but the next one may very well be a Tacoma. Looked at a new Ranger last Sunday at a local Ford dealer while they were closed. Looked like a pretty nice interior to me.

    AC Delco and Motorcraft

FWIW (nothing) My Ford gets Motorcraft oil and filters and the Chevy gets AC Delco oil and filters. They are both quite happy.

Why do you use the oil brand you use?

Thats an easy one. Personal preference. So long as it meets your vehicle's specs, I don't think you can buy a "bad" oil. '

    I'm 60 years old

58 here and still rocking it! I applaud O.P. attitude towards things. Still working full time, with a 200 hours or so of overtime annually. Plan on retiring anywhere from 62-67 years of age. I have noticed the last year or so some aches and pains that weren't there prior. I have had to also back...

    Ram 3.6 Towing

1/2 ton pick up trucks have come an incredibly long ways from 20 years ago. Makes me wonder where they will be 20 years into the future. I hope the Ram is right there with the rest.

    Pickups..which one for easy entrance/exit?

As much as I like my new Colorado, it is not pleasant to enter/exit. It is actually more difficult than a full size half ton 4x4. I would recommend a full size 2x4 for ease of entry/exit. I am 58 years old and definitely understand where you are coming from.

    Subaru Crosstrek

Subaru seems to have really stepped up their game as of late. I think you could do a lot worse for sure. Do a review on yours (if you buy it) in a few months and tell us your thought's.

    1995 Ford Thunderbird

Gentlemen, I became the 2nd owner of a '95 T-bird with the 4.6 V-8 engine this afternoon. Now, before you all start laughing at me you have to understand that I really like this vintage year T-bird/Cougar. They aren't for everybody, but I like them and have owned several back in the day when...

What to Do With a Dead Vehicle?

You and your daughter made the right choice. Life is short. Spending too much money on an old heap like that just isn't worth it.
