    I think most went pointless in the mid 1980's or thereabouts. I use a small EZE-LAP® diamond whetstone/knife sharpener to "file" points. I ran the same set of points in a VW Bug for over 50,000 miles using this method. As long as there is ANY contact material left they clean up quite nicely. Joe
