Diesel in a LawnBoy mower

How curious! If this is one of the 2 stroke Duraforce engines here are some of the engine specs:
compression ratio 5.8:1
measured compression should be around 115 lbs
ignition timing 28 degrees BTDC

No idea if this would work, work well, or destroy the engine. Maybe he's the brother of the "Man who shot the Lawnboy".

Ummmmm....... read the original post. It DOES work. Can't say that it will work well but it obviously functions. And I have indeed used diesel in a spark ignition engine successfully, but that engine was designed to do just that.

Can't fix stupid. And as far as any savings, think again. MX2T (M1 Racing 2T) is being closed out at AZ for 1 cent a quart. Gas is just under 4.00 a gallon here, so do the math. Diesel is still higher, and he is not doing the mower any favors. I love my LawnBoy.. that 5 horse commercial engine sings, and you just can't kill the thing even in heavy grass. 4 ounces of MX2T in gallon of regular, and go mow.

Squirt a bunch of diesel feul on a partially lit pile of charcoal in an BBQ pit stand back and throw a burning match into the diesel vapors.

Everything will vaporize if it's heated enough, steel will vaporize at a hot enough temperature. Diesel fuel will not vaporize in a carburator to run a gasoline engine at normal room temperature. I read the original post, the operator is heating engine up first, then switching to diesel, what he is not doing is lubricating the engine bearings, and the diesel isn't vaporizing into an air/fuel mixture in the carb, it's doing that in the cylinder. It does surprise me that it is igniting at such a low temperature fast enough to run this mower. Gasoline vaporize into the air at room temperature, that's why their are the ridiculous levels of EVAP controls on modern cars, diesel vehicles have none of these conrtols because the fuel does not naturally vaporize, it must be heated alot to do so.
