Help me choose a new Starter...

That’s probably true but everything I’ve had done by them has either retired when the vehicle did or else is still working. Whatever they use, it seems decent and the service is unmatched.

New resident Donkey for my small town

I’d love to have a pet donkey. Our neighbours had one for about 20 years. You could hear it sometimes but it’s not an obnoxious sound. It was very friendly and enjoyed food and petting.

Help me choose a new Starter...

Me as well. I’m lucky enough to have a great auto electric place that is local, uses quality parts, and can do the work quickly if needed.

What are you working on today?

I did mine from the top this year and it wasn’t bad at all. However, if I had a lift or a good, safe method of jacking it up, I’d try from the bottom too….

What are you working on today?

Did you do it from the top or bottom?

What pet is better in your opinion: dog or cat?

This is huge. Our schnoodle didn't shed but recently we took care of MIL's dogs for a week and our place was covered in dog hair

What pet is better in your opinion: dog or cat?

One of our cats had anxiety issues and peed on two couches and a nice rug. Prozac seems to have fixed that. He doesn’t much care for cuddling or contact but seems happy now. Cat pee is the worst and anything it gets on is pretty much destroyed.

Putting a Dog to Rest Forever, our journey will come to a close this month

Sorry to hear this. Best wishes to you and your wife. We lost ours May of last year - very, very similar to yours but a bit smaller. These are special dogs.

Canadians - GTX Synthetic now at CT

I co to use to buy Supertech Euro 5w40 at $28 for 5 litres from Walmart. Might not be amazing stuff but it’s cheap and gets the job done.

    What happened to Chat GPT?

On a present-day, practical level, ChatGPT and similar tools help me at work by writing Powershell scripts for complex tasks. Sometimes they’re basically ready and other times they need more editing. Sometimes they’ll suggest an old or deprecated set of commands and I have to point it in the...

EV for people who hate EV's...

I’m a strong EV proponent but have never really understood the argument about all the time saved by not having to fuel up. Sure, plugging in is quick but there are gas stations everywhere and no matter where I go I can just stop on the way by whenever I feel like it. I don’t think I’ve had to...

EV for people who hate EV's...

But this is my favourite place on the internet, with the same thread and same comments month after month, year after year! 🤓😄 I add my own repetitive comments from time to time as well, for the fun of it!

    Used EV sales increase

I’m at the low end, having bought a 2011 Leaf a few months back. Insurance is less than our 2010 Frontier cost and the operating costs are just ridiculously low. Level 1 is working very well for us. This thing is fantastic for city driving. Not a road tripper but it’s doing the vast majority...

    The demise of AM radio

I grew up in rural Saskatchewan in the 80’s and we had a single AM station….no FM at all. I listened extensively to Blue Jays baseball and WHL hockey. Nowadays in Victoria/Vancouver, there used to be a few AM sports talk stations but it’s down to 1 because it’s just not profitable anymore. I’m...

Tesla is struggling to turn Cybertruck reservations into buyers.

It’s finally come to the point where I very rarely see a PT Cruiser on the road. My mom had a 2003 (I think) PT convertible. I didn’t like driving it much because it was hard to see when the top was on but we drove it through the Rockies one nice day in the summer (12 hour trip) and it was so...

    Working on a new dog

I love this dog. Just like ours we lost last year - I believe we discussed this in another thread. I’d love to get another Schnoodle some day and my wife has started to send me links to Schnoodles up for adoption.

    Working on a new dog

We had a Schnoodle for 18 years and he was a wonderful dog.

What are you working on today?

It boggles the mind that management wouldn’t immediately terminate this guy. I guess at least he’s on his way out…

Anyone else ever raise chickens for eggs or meat?

I’d love to have chickens for the eggs but everyone I’ve known who has them attracts lots of rats to their place. No thanks!
