    2016 Mitsubishi Outlander reliability?

My daughter is looking at a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport 4WD, 4 cylinder engine, 58k miles. I’m not finding much online. Often, there is conflicting information from different sources. JD Powers gives it 2.5 out of 5 for reliability. Anyone here have any experience or concrete information...

    2015 Subaru Forester reliablilty

Looking for a "new" vehicle for my daughter. Although we own a 2016 Honda Odyssey, I am not too familiar with many of the imports. Looking at a 2015 Subaru Forester with 93k miles. How are these vehicles for reliability and longevity? Any known issues to be aware of? Please advise.

    1941 Chevrolet pickup, rare???

A guy here in town has a 1941 Chevrolet pickup that needs to be restored. He stated that it was rare due to the war and not many being produced. I had also read that elsewhere. Why would this be? America didn’t enter WWII until the end of 1941. Seems to me that years 1942 and later would be more...

    2013/2014 rear bumper question

I think Chevrolet added the rear bumper with the step on either end in 2013 or 2014. My question is, will a newer bumper with the built in steps fit a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado?

    1998 Ford 4.6

No. The dealer didn’t want to give much for his car so we decided to keep what he has for now.

    2000 Silverado Catalytic Converter

I ordered an Evan Fischer catalytic converter through CarParts.com. It was a little more money but I think the warranty will be better/easier.

    2000 Silverado Catalytic Converter

I need to replace the catalytic converter on my 2000 Chevrolet Silverado LS 5.3 engine. I can get the entire Y pipe through Walmart.com for $207 shipped. The manufacturer is DNA Motoring out of California. I can get this setup from anywhere from $200 to $600. I’ve only found two reviews; one...

Will spark plugs clean up by driving.

I was able to get my friend to scan the vehicle with his OBD1 scanner. Vehicle isn’t getting up to temperature. Tried a new radiator cap. No help. Next up is new thermostat. Vehicle is never getting out of open loop due to not reaching temperature and short trips.

I added two cans of Seafoam and 16 ounces of Marvel Mystery Oil to a full tank of gas (37 gallons) to help with the cleanup. I also added a can of Bar’s Leaks Engine Seal to the oil to help control the oil leaking past the valve guides. I’ve run this far a couple of days. I pulled the number 5...

    Bars Leak’s Oil Seal

Has anyone used Bar’s Leaks Oil Seal? It sas that it stops leaks caused by bad valve guides. I replaced my plugs in November. The were fouled already. Partly because of bad valve guides and partly because the vehicle was running rich due to bad oxygen sensor and catalytic converter issues. I...

I’ve been using Napa 10W/30. Last time, I used 3 quarts of Napa 16W/40 and 2 quarts of Napa Ow/20 full synthetic. Trying to use up the synthetic.

Thick oil wanted for 1991 4.3L GM V6

Probably burning about a quart per month. The valve stem seals were replaced. That’s how the mechanic knew the valve guides were bad. I would guess the truck has about 145k miles. My school purchased it in 1995 with 56k miles. They put about 1200 miles per year on it. Oil changes were once per...

Thick oil wanted for 1991 4.3L GM V6

Yeah, after 5 or 6 years of owning it, I had the stem seals replaced but my mechanic said the valve guides were worn. Not really worth replacing. Roughly a $1500-$2000 vehicle. Just want to slow down the oil burning.
