    97 Camry transmission whine

Just an update: After 10,000 miles the power steering belt was cracked all over and it started slipping. I would lose power steering sometimes while driving. I went ahead and bought the 2 belts for AC/Alternator and P/S from the dealer and installed them. My car sounds way better now. The...

1997 Camry 5SFE with valve cover off

Thank you all for your comments. Well I will be using Auto-RX for the first time and see what happens. I have been reading about Auto-RX for over a year now and finally bought this product simply because I heard so many good things about it. I'll follow the basic application and use Pennzoil...

1997 Camry 5SFE with valve cover off

Thank you all for your replies. What is varnish exactly? I already received the Auto-RX and I will be using it. Also I will use it in my power steering and auto tranny units to clean them up.

1997 Camry 5SFE with valve cover off

Hey all, Here are some pics of 1997 Camry with the valve cover off. The engine is still original and it has 174,300 miles now. I bought the car last February from the original owner. At that time the car had 163,400. I had 2 oil changes done with MaxLife first (2800 miles) and then Formula...

Dexron III , V, or VI for Nissan Sentra 1.6

^ I am sure the OP meant Supertech Mercon V not Dexron V. Supertech's Mercon V satisfies the requirement of Dexron-III. It's written on the label.

    toyo Spectrum

I have them right now and I like them. Since the tires now need to be replaced, they are making a little more noise than usual. They are all season tires and they performed really well in the snow. I like them and would buy them again. The tread warranty is 65K miles and they are reasonably...

    PureOne oil filters

Only reason I am doing it because there was a post of a member who kept the PureOne filter on his Corolla for 2 oil changes totaling 11K miles using Valvoline SynPower. I forgot who did it. Most likely I will change the filter when time comes! Thanks everyone.

    PureOne oil filters

Good day all, As you know there is a PureOne deal on Amazon.com. I will be getting 6 filters total for $2.74 a filter after rebate. My plan is, since these PureOnes are expensive and excellent filters, to use a filter for 2 oil changes. What I will do is keep the filter for 10,000 miles...

    Dexron III made anymore?

Quote: In theory, if Toyota specified DEXRON-III, then you would reasonably assume that DEXRON-VI would be equally useable ~ but since it has not been tested by Toyota (as far as I know) there is no data to support that. So you should be confused, and I can't give you a simple answer! Well if...

    ATF Coolers

A friend of mine suggested that if someone wants to put synthetic ATF in a AT that you better install an ATF cooler since the fluid will get hotter than regular ATF. I know synthetics protect against heat better but is it true what he's saying?
