Maxlife should be good for your Max. I have ML in my 96 I30 which is practically a Nissan Maxima. Transmission has 233K miles and shifts perfectly. If you decide to change it out later on, I heard Castrol Import Multi Vehicle is also a good alternative.

Well it turned out the 2nd replacement and the original are both bad. I used different programs to burn and it would not work as it should. Thank you all for your help. Now I know the DV6000 is still working properly. We will buy a new one this time from eBay.

I updated Windows and still no luck. I found a laptop to test the 2nd replacement and will see if it works or not.

Thanks Russ for your reply. I cannot find any firmware upgrades for this optical drive. I tried Windows XP and I had the same problems with Windows 7.
