    TotalAddBlock

If you talk to your credit card company, they can block a given company from being authorized to automatically bill your card. I had to do that once and that easily solved the issue! Ed

Have you ever added water to the car battery?

My original 2019 Toyota Tacoma battery has fill caps, so I use this: https://amzn.to/3kowy9F to fill it with distilled water whenever it needs it, which is not very often. I check it probably once a month just for good measure. Ed

Do you leave your battery charger continually connected whenever your vehicle is at rest?

I have a 2019 Toyota Tacoma with 10,500 miles. I drive it probably once per week. My Wife has a 2001 Volvo S-40 with 52,000 miles on which gets driven once every month or two. Ed

Do you leave your battery charger continually connected whenever your vehicle is at rest?

After reading a little bit about batteries, I've come to the understanding that batteries last the longest when they're fully charged, either by the alternator or a battery charger of some type. I don't do a lot of driving and my Wife does even less. I have a PulseTech XC100-P Xtreme Charge...

Hacking cars and digital license plates

I think the price to license and register a vehicle, of any type, is outrageously expensive in California. It's just laughable compared to what most other states charge...but that's California. It just boggles my mind that anyone would want to pay MORE than they already do for a digital...

New Vehicle Average Transaction Prices Dec 2022

Not long ago I heard them say on my local radio station that in 1970, the average car price was, roughly, 25% of the average, annual salary. Today, the average new car is approximately 50% or more of the average personal salary. Ed

Oil life expectancy - in the crankcase -vs unopened on the shelf?

Unless I'm wrong, most oil companies now recommend changing the oil on your car every year, or two, for any vehicle you don't put many miles on. I don't quite understand the reasoning behind that, but it seems to be what is most often recommended. I also read about some BITOG members who...

Green Valley, AZ home, being sold for cash only, as is- just sold for 50k above listing price

I've had lots of cash buyers before but they all had one thing in common...their offers were contingent upon the property actually appraising for the contract price. Most, but not all, buyers are not willing to pay more than appraised value. Ed

What do you think about Alpaca socks (and/or Alpaca clothing, in general)?

I e-mailed the company and they replied... "Thank you for reaching out. Our socks are made with a blend of 42% alpaca fleece, 27% nylon, 28% acrylic and 3% spandex. All other products are made with 100% alpaca fleece." Ed

What do you think about Alpaca socks (and/or Alpaca clothing, in general)?

I'm thinking of getting my Wife some Alpaca socks. I like what they "say" about Alpaca, i.e., it's warmer and softer than wool, breaths better, etc. https://www.pacas.com/pages/alpaca-facts Is this just a bunch of hooey marketing, or is Alpaca clothing worth the $$$ and as good as they claim...

Sound deadening a truck - best area to begin for noise reduction?

I have a 2019 Toyota Tacoma, 4 door. I don't have a lot of time to do all of the interior at one time. I want to begin section by section. In terms of noise reduction, which area would you recommend I start with that might have the most noticeable improvement? Floor, door panels, etc.? Also...

Recommend an external back up HDD or SSD Quality Brand (for Mac desktop)

Just a general suggestion for your backup... If you're open to the idea of buying two (2) drives, I would suggest that. Photos are irreplaceable and having more than a single copy is always a good idea. One step further would be to have one copy of your photos "off-site" (maybe with a family...

HPL Euro 0w20: run it in a BMW B48, or in 2014 Accord?

Yep. I have no hesitation. David replied because BITOG is one of the larger target audiences for HPL products, and that's just plain smart marketing to do so. When the OP says..."I have asked HPL three times over the past few weeks"... and he has to ask an outside source for their feedback, I...

HPL Euro 0w20: run it in a BMW B48, or in 2014 Accord?

Question...will you buy HPL products again? If I'd had the lack of response that you've had from a manufacturer, that would be all provocation I need to buy a different oil. With all of the great oils on the market today, I'd pick another brand and never look back. Ed
