Safe to use XG9688 on a Hyundai?

I strayed from the Hyundai OEM cartridge on our 2007 Santa Fe for the first time with the recent oil change. Fram TG9999. No rattling going on and filter looked identical to the Hyundai filter in every way. The Fram was also made in the USA, less expensive, and saves a trip to the stealership.

    Defy & Liqui-Moly

On the second round of defy in our Hyundai Santa fe. Stopped oil pan seep first time around and is slowing valve and timing cover seeps. Hoping the second round keeps slowing them. Defy is good stuff with a good additive package.

    Dipstick Reads High After OCI

I have the same engine. 5.5 qts is the correct amount of oil with a filter change. dipstick is tricky on the Tacoma. I check when cold and go by where the oil is solidly on the stick if that makes any sense. There is always some streaky looking oil on the dipstick which is just part of the...

Maxlife Full Syn vs. Mobil 1 HM

I'm sure Valvoline replaced the moly they took out of Maxlife with something comparable but I hate they did that because I have no idea what they used to replace it (if they did).

Why I will always change my own oil!!!!

It really stinks and it pretty sad honestly that you can't trust any kind of service anymore. Quality is just not something America seems to be into anymore. That and the fact that our country seems to be getting dumber all the time (that's another topic though, lol). I had to literally lay on a...

    Start Your Lawnmowers...

Fired mine up today to warm up the oil in order to change it with the spark plug and air filter. Had to take a lighter to the old spark plug to get it to start. Was going to chop the tops off some of the weeds in the yard with it today but way to wet out there. Glad I got it ready to go though.
