Think Mobil 1 is pretty well liked around here. The EP versions are high quality oils. Their Euro oils are also highly thought of. I used to use it exclusively but have shifted to trying less expensive brands at a reasonable OCI. My vehicles don't know, don't tell them.

If their site is picking up your location a vpn will make it look like you're somewhere else. I don't know why but it appears the sale is regional. Just a way that it might work.

I thought so too. Makes you wonder if they are getting certain additives from another company that does provide that info and doesn't want Shell claiming the same numbers.

A free trial vpn may help if not in your area.

They won't tell you HTHS or NOACK. I tried to find out. Something about a NDA they have with their additive suppliers.

Interesting the mention of only a 5k OCI for a synthetic. Guess it makes sense for a "cleaning" oil. Wonder if 7.5k would be ok.

Would anyone be willing to run one of these for 2 ocis and 15k total miles? Or would you strictly stick to 10k max. I've run tough guard cartridges for 20k and they looked good.

I've run several TG cartridge style filters for 20k and they looked good. Harder to hide poor quality without the metal can coverage though.

Is this flashlight test a relatively new process? I used to frequent the forum more often and don't recall these being done several years ago. Could this have always been an issue in the production line where metal on metal construction was involved?

This seems like the best answer right now to me and FRAM tough guard. ChampXL or FRAM Tough Guard for most likely USA made. Seems FRAM Ultra and Endurance lines could be having some QC issues.
