Yeah man!

I've probably been driving @BrendanC crazy with oil filter questions, lol. With his help and a few others, I settled on either the Fram FE2 Endurance or CarQuest 85372 Premium oil filters. I think I'm gonna grab 10 CQ filters this week. That should be about five years of oil and filter changes doing 5k mile OCI w/Valvoline EP 5W-30.

NYH1.

Would anyone be willing to run one of these for 2 ocis and 15k total miles? Or would you strictly stick to 10k max. I've run tough guard cartridges for 20k and they looked good.

I wouldn’t have a problem running them out to 15k miles…. I have done a bit over 13k miles with one and it was in excellent condition afterwards.

For the guys who can't get the super sale discount, and if you want to save 15% on-line, use the code SPERKS15. I just used it for an on-line order for store pickup. No minimum order for that code to work.

You can stack that with the 40% discount if you can get it where you are. Think I'm good on filters for a while now. Got a few for each vehicle. 🙂

The Carquest Premium 10K Mile oil filter also shows the $7.79 ea. regular price here in Western Washington . **I have not used this Carquest Premium oil filter before - is it on par (quality wise) with a current generation Fram Ultra or maybe a Fram Endurance oil filter ? It appears the Carquest Premium filtering efficiency is 99% @ 30 microns where as I believe the Fram Ultra filtering efficiency is 99% @ 20 microns ?

The AAP website says 99.5% at 20u. Some say that's incorrect, but who knows for sure. They seem to be made by Premium Guard, which they say their extended use filters are 99% @ 25u. So hard to pin it down firmly, but even if they are 99% @ 25 that's still pretty good. Probably better than an Ultra or Endurance with a ratty ruffles leaky leaf spring. 😄
