Just got hit by the "head gasket scam"

I agree there are circumstances where the buyers have been quite shaky. The worst one I had was a guy and his kid test drove my 1990 Ford F-150 that I was selling. It was a nice truck, 4x4 with the 300 inline 6 and a manual transmission. The idiot kid broke the glove box latch to the point...

Aussie girl saves pet from python. PG rated

That little girl had some guts picking up the snake and swinging it around. Great job! I probably would have killed the snake instead of throwing it in the neighbors yard.

My 10,000 mile review of the 2024 Tahoe

Nice write up and great looking truck. I always felt the GM V8's are pretty hard to beat for a decent engine.

    Engine Break-in

Yes, take it easy on that new engine. The computer on the new Corvettes will not allow it to go past a certain RPM and they do have a break in period. I think it's 500 miles.

    Do I need lead substitute?

I had a 1973 Chevrolet pickup back in the day and I just ran regular unleaded gas without any problems. That's a nice big truck!

    Debating getting a Passport Card

I renewed my passport again last week and chose not to buy the card. I don't go overseas or into Canada that much and the book is just fine. No use spending extra money for something that will sit in the gun safe until the next vacation. It still cost me about $155.00 to renew and that was...

1968 Cadillac Fleetwood 7.7L V8 472cu Limousine 75 series- would you enjoy this vehicle as a project?

I would pass on it since it probably wouldn't fit in my garage. I think it's longer than my Ford F-150 super crew but maybe not.

Went looking at new Corolla's with/for a buddy. Nope, not happening.

Some dealers like to mark them up and give unreal money for the trade in which makes the customer think they really acquired a good deal. Best to get on the internet and move on to a better deal.

    engine oil extractor

I have the MityVac and it works on my Civic for engine oil & trans fluid. It doesn't work on my Corvette or F-150 and not sure about the Rev 4. I do not know if it will work on a Subaru.

Ford lightning and Cybertruck terrorist vehicles. Rented from individuals…Insurance DENYED?

The owner of the Ford was most likely fully insured is what I was trying to portray. Since it was a rental by the owner he probably paid for insurance for other people to rent the truck. I would have to believe the owner of the truck will be re-impbursed by the insurance company. It's...

Went looking at new Corolla's with/for a buddy. Nope, not happening.

We bought our 2024 Toyota RAV4 4 AWD hybrid and paid sticker but they were bringing top price at that time and were hard to get over a year ago.

Ford lightning and Cybertruck terrorist vehicles. Rented from individuals…Insurance DENYED?

Nobody knows if the insurance was denied and basically your guess is as good as mine. I would think if somebody was renting a vehicle they would be smart enough to have it fully insured but it's anybody's guess. There are lot's of people with no insurance but there are also lot's of people...

Just put my Christmas gift present to myself in my C5 - 4.10 rear

I wouldn't use the Mobil but would rather go with the fluid GM recommends for the C5 which has the additive in it. I bet that car really moves out with the 4.10 gear ratio.

[2009 Honda Accord 4 cylinders] Transmission shudder at low RPM (2nd gear)

If the correct ATF doesn't help I would install new plugs and coils. It's fairly inexpensive and easy.

[2009 Honda Accord 4 cylinders] Transmission shudder at low RPM (2nd gear)

Back when Mobil 1 had an automatic transmission fluid available for Honda's I used it on one drain and fill. The car would bang when I put it in gear. I was on a Honda forum shortly thereafter and a reader told me to get it out ASAP. He said only use the correct Honda ATF fluid. I changed it...
