Cut open PIAA oil filter with a specialised tool for the first time. It was clean inside. What I didnt like was when I removed filter there was almost no oil inside, even though filter is mounted sideways. Its like the ADBV doesnt work. I noticed this with the ENEOS filters too. Maybe thats why...

Just did my oil change, out came Shell Helix Ultra 5W-40 and PIAA oil filter, in went Restore & Protect 5W-30 and Wix Oil Filter. I like the smell of R & P, its kinda like vintage "wood".

Yes for a 5W30, those wear numbers look real good. The Boron additives looked used up, New they are like 160+. Definitely an oil I would use for my car as I only drive 6000km max a year.

Spot on, and its a 35 year old car. If its any consolation, i probably will not use 10W-50 after i used up my one bottle. I just bought Valvoline restore and protect 5W30 from rock auto. will be running that in 2026.

Ok i will go with 1 bottle, +3.5L of either shell helix Ultra 5W40 or penrite 10W50.
