I'm at 39,778 right now and should hit 40K by next weekend, that'll be 3,783 miles on the oil. I should have another UOA in a couple of weeks. Since it's a relatively short OCI for M1, I'm expecting low wear levels... we'll see.

Okay... I going to run this fill of M1 to 5K then switch to GC 10W30 (assuming) I find it. If I use an OCI of 5K, that'll translate to ~4 months between changes... I hope results will be better.

It would appear that VQs love the taste of Mobil1... mine has, and continues to consume 1/2 qt per 3k miles or so. My lead wear is low at 4K but rises to double digits at 7.5K; the only positive is that it has shown a downwards trend over the last 20K miles. Hopefully my next UOA will support...

What about if the filter is clogged and the oil flows through the bypass valve... this oil would be unfiltered, right? If so, would the crankshaft bearings be the first place it flows to? (I know almost zip about engine internals)
