Put a hour meter on it and was looking for the gear box drain but apparently the motor is of newer design that the parts illustration. The 2:1 gear reduction is intergraded into the motor and shares the engine oil. Took the belt guard off and got the info from them. The blades are reversible.

Most vehicles reduce pressure to the rear somehow and this slows things down if you are pumping the pedal. Having the engine running and the power boost speeds this up quite a bit.

You can if you can see the timing with OBD. Find the knock sensor and tap on the block while it's running. It should reduce the timing. I'm sure there is some sort of electrical test too.

They sell E15 gas around here (85 they call it), cheaper than regular and I bet it would fix your knocking. I had a 1979 4 cyl Mustang that knocked bad under load on regular. That was the year they went to E10 gas in Illinois. Just using E10 fixed that issue.

I've tried vacuum bleeding with the hand pump with some success, but never seems to work good on the Accent. It has the typical Hyundai calipers. I have a vacuum pump for AC work. Hmmm.......
