    FL-910S FAIL

I used the MC 910 for many successful years ( half a million miles), but 2 years ago I started noticing black rubber in the bottom of my oil change pan caused by the over spray on the end caps. So I am now using the Fram Ultra, but who knows they may be defective as well. However I never saw...

When will a new vehicle need to worry about sludge or sticking pistons.

Yes. When I switched to M1 5-20 in 1978 I offset the $5 qt for M1 compared to 45 cents per qt with Valvoline. There was such a dramatic difference I've stuck with M1 ever since. 10K OCIs and all the other benefits.

When will a new vehicle need to worry about sludge or sticking pistons.

M1 oils of the proper wt. will prevent sludge, varnish, and coking rings. I do 10K OCIs for the last 47 years wth M1 and have never had those 1ssues.

    Costco drop Mobil 1?

I've used M1 oils since 1978 and have not found your claim to be true. It fact todays M1 performs as good or maybe better than any I've used. That's my experience.

10k oil change - Fram Orange x2, or Fram Ultra x1?

I used MC oil filters for many years all at 10K OCIs. Probably put at least 700,000 miles +with the MC filters in Fords. Stopped using them last year when the black glue started showing up in my oil change pan.

    Ford Mercon Lv compatibility

My 2017 Ford Fusion calls for LV ATF. I only used M1 LV HP atf and the trans shifts great up and down. I do the drain and fill every 30-35 K and the fluid drains out very clean as apposed to the MC LV fluid which drained out very dark the first two D&Fs I did.
