Electrical Outlet Inside Bathroom Sink Cabinet

In highrises, the hot and cold risers are almost always just behind the vanity and there is never any waiting for the water to get hot.

And clamped the cable down close to the box. This definitely looks like a professional installation.

Electrical Outlet Inside Bathroom Sink Cabinet

My customer is the original owner of this condo and he did not put it in, it was put in by the builder. Modern condos are very well insulated and heated, unlikely anybody needs extra warmth. This was a show apartment in this building, but I can't think of any reason why a show apartment needs...

Electrical Outlet Inside Bathroom Sink Cabinet

Yes, Bathroom Vanity. This was a builder installed outlet, likely installed in all the apts in this 7 storey building. Not installed by an owner with an unusual requirement for an outlet inside the cabinet.

Electrical Outlet Inside Bathroom Sink Cabinet

This is in a three year old high end condo built by a very reputable bulder in Toronto. Two questions - Why would someone need the outlet inside the cabinet? What would they plug in? Isn't it against code to have receptacles inside cabinets?

iPhones, Face Recognition and Apple Wallet

I only need Google Maps when I am in unfamiliar territory, which is not very often. I turn on Google Maps when I need it and, with the phone not close to my face, it would not unlock. It does now after I shifted the mount.

iPhones, Face Recognition and Apple Wallet

No. What am I missing by keeping my phone off? I turn my phone on if I need to send a text or make a call, via Siri.

How To Get Full Rated Current From 12V -120V Inverters

Running a variable output heat gun off a 1000W inverter, the maximum I could get was about 600W before the inverter starts beeping and eventually shuts down. I recently figured out that running my truck engine so that the alternator was charging the battery greatly helps. Now I can get the...

How Likely Is It That I Can Get Bank1/Sensor2 O2 Sensor Out?

Got the sensor out, came out easy peasy. Did not have to heat it. I cut off half the sensor with my angle grinder and then used a 22mm socket. Did not have to apply excessive force. Used my O2 sensor socket for installation. I was expecting to have a fight on my hands, considering this was a...

Question On Charging Via USB Cable

Are the connections made live? I was wondering if there is any arcing going on if a USB charging cable is plugged into a flashlight (or Lightning cable plugged into a iPhone) with the power source already on. Or power only starts flowing after internal switching, whether inside the flashlight...

Toilet fill valve too short ?

Moen 5350 is the perfect solution. It can be adjusted down to 4 inches of water in the tank. See how close to the base of the tank/fill valve is the bottom end of the arm on which the float rides Some of the old LoBoy toilets need a low water level and I have been using the Moen for this...

Filtrete Furnace Filter Full Of Holes

Thanks shortyb and Geekhead, you came up with the only explanation which makes sense, it is a charcoal filter for odor control. I have no info at all on the filter. I snapped this pic at the moving company whose trucks I maintain. Every so often they have to dispose of customers' stuff in...

Filtrete Furnace Filter Full Of Holes

What is with the holes? Does the filter electostatically capture dust that might pass through the holes?

iPhones, Face Recognition and Apple Wallet

As an aside, I found that Face ID is better at putting glasses on than taking them off. I first tried Face ID with glasses on and it had difficulty recognising me when my glasses were off. I then set up Face ID with my glasses off and now it recognises me whether I am wearing glasses or not

Had someone brake check me while on the bicycle this afternoon.

mrsilv04's experience is typical of the behaviour of aggressive drivers and I simply do not care if I am annoying them with my driving style when I am in my truck. Totally different when I am riding my motorcycle or my bicycle. I am much too vulnerable then and will get away from the situation...
