The spring in tensioners often gets work hardened and overtighens the belt, especially with high hours. Had a customer that kept replacing water pumps with blown out bearings due to an old tensioner.
When I had the ignition lock problem I jumped 25 to 26 with the key on just to crank it. Hunk of wire with two spades crimped on, quick plug/unplug . Got me going for a week until I could rip the column apart.
I’ve had problems with several Chrysler products of that vintage where the lock cylinder wouldn’t go to the start position. Felt like it did but no good.

never noticed that until I went down to look at it now. Hard water around here, electric ones don’t seem to last by neighbors experiences.
Friends have their water heater as part of the baseboard system, tank failed after 6 years and expensive to replace.
Repair took a few minutes to install. But found where the bearings mount on the support, the little pins that locate/center the strips broken. Bearings still went in and seem ok, but now I see why there’s kits with the support and bearings. Almost ordered that at the time but the extended...
So who repairs their own appliances? Drier snagged the string on some of my daughter’s scrubs. Pulled it apart and front drum wear bearings (strips?) are essentially gone. Ordered from the big river for delivery tomorrow.

ZF’s off-road units are bulletproof.
Their small industrial MDU’s I’m kinda meh on, seem durable but difficult to service. Leaky output seals involve major disassembly.
Friday headache, extremely phlegmy nose, scratchy throat. Saturday worse, took Covid test, positive. Started Paxlovid Sunday morning, pretty much better right now. Metallic taste in mouth no fun though.
Yes boosted November still got it.
The way these and the previous ones posted are made with the points skewed at opposing angles makes them twist in old wood. I haven’t found any I like better.
