    Goodyear ditches Dunlop

While that's true.. My experience with Dunlop in the 90s was terrible. Junk tires, could never balance them up, run out was ridiculous, not true, etc.. I had forgotten Dunlop was even around anymore. They died for a good reason, they weren't that good back then.. and here we are today.

    Toyota Corolla Spark Plugs

Anytime I've seen plugs at the Toyota dealer they were made by Denso in Japan (as others have said).. My tC engine (Camry) came with NGK from the factory. Never had a problem, engine running smoothly. And as I said above this message, I get mine from NAPA.

    Toyota Corolla Spark Plugs

Sparkplugs.com is an independent dealer, small family owned shop but they are an authorized NGK dealer. I bought 02 sensors from them in the past, excellent service! I'd say NAPA, I usually use my AAA card and the price is in line with other dealers (authorized).. After the fiasco of ordering...

    Mazda Filter

I mean I'm kind of a perfectionist, but reality? I don't think the MV oil filter would destroy your engine. Is it as nice as the regular part? no, but 5k it would get the job done.. I do know that the MV wiper blades are pure junk, worse than the $8 blades at walmart!

    Mazda Filter

also.. every MV parts I've researched on the Mazda forums have said the MV parts are junk. brake pads, wiper blades, air filters, etc. I agree, return it and get the regular part number.

    Mazda Filter

a lot of mazda dealers keep pushing the "market value" oil filter claiming it's the same as the regular part number. It's not the same. It's cheaper for a reason. You might search the forum I believe there was someone who cut one open. It wasn't bad but not as good as the regular part number...

10 year old / 21k mile car with 3 verified oil changes

hey even if it DID need fuel/brake hard lines because of rust.. so what? IF that's all that is wrong with it because it sat a lot.. then I'd say it's a worthy investment! Looks like you found a great car, from the pictures it was well taken care of! Because nothing is perfect, awesome...

    Bought a Cheap Accord

Do you have part numbers for both parts? Is the one stay on the throttle body for the cruise control part number 17931-SM4-A00? If not, let me know both part numbers and I'll do some digging. Used to this type of search with my old 96.. Great job on the vtec spool valve, yup they leak and...

CARB Catalytic Converter - AP/Eastern/Catco vs. BRE vs. Magnaflow

yeah lots of brands under that corporate umbrella. If anyone knows what other brands Tenneco has, it would be good to know, it's what I could find so far. and I agree with you, when I saw moog, monroe and fel-pro I thought "yup, that makes sense!"

CARB Catalytic Converter - AP/Eastern/Catco vs. BRE vs. Magnaflow

also wanted to do some digging to find out what happened with Walker. I remembered private equity but the story is this.. Walker was part of Federal-Mogul and Tenneco bought out FM in 2018. From there I saw a fall in quality (as did others). Tenneco spun off the automotive section into a brand...

CARB Catalytic Converter - AP/Eastern/Catco vs. BRE vs. Magnaflow

and more digging on Walker, they got bought out by a private equity firm.. yup here we go again, a race to the bottom for quality while they squeeze all the profit for the top management. Soon walker will be out of business like sears.. squeezed for the last dime. And wow.. the warranty says...

CARB Catalytic Converter - AP/Eastern/Catco vs. BRE vs. Magnaflow

just as I've seen lately with other Walker products, the quality of that brand is NOT what it used to be. Ever since they got bought out, the quality has been going down and down, to the point where the last part I ever got from them (muffler) wasn't even welded correctly. I actually ended up...

    Unbelievable hose clamp drama

I actually use one of those on a hard to fit area on one of my coolant hoses. Only issue I had was after the initial tightening (with a new hose) I had to further tighten it. After that no issues. But as you were saying, could always use one of these but in my mind if I'm replacing clamps...

Various Mobil 1 formulas tested in HPL’s lab! Motor Oil Geek LSJr video

beyond the talking style.. these tests are awesome, to actually show that the marketing wasn't just marketing from Mobil. There really are differences in the many offerings on the shelf of Mobil1. I enjoyed seeing the oxidation levels and how quickly the race-track GT oil protected greatly...

Advance Auto Parts to close 700+ stores.

almost sounds like they're not trying to offer many people a deal.. do they get better profit from dumping it to a clearance wholesaler? is ollie's buying up their left over stock?
