2006 Honda Accord EX V6 leaking oil

Video of leak part 2 Might be the rear main seal. Thinking of trying Valvoline Maxlife Synthetic blend 5w-20 during my next oil change at 125k

2006 Honda Accord EX V6 leaking oil

Welp, we gotta leak, folks. It doesn't look like a transmission leak, so that's good. I can't tell where it's coming from. It's a 06 Accord V6 with 124k miles. It's not leaking like crazy—just a drop every two weeks or so. Video of leak...

    2013 Honda Accord VCG time

Welp, it is time to do the VCG on the Accord. I am at 120k~ miles. Starting to seep a little. Nothing crazy. From my understanding, Mahle makes the OEM "Honda" branded gasket. I found a Mahle VCG kit on Autozone for $56. What's wild is I saw the same part number on Rockauto but under a different...

2006 Honda Accord EX V6 excessive brake dust on one wheel.

Update: put the car on a lift and rolled both wheels. I started the car and depressed the brake petal then released it. The same amount of friction on both rear wheels. I do apply the parking brake when I park (just a habit). I'll stop applying that and see if it makes a difference.

2006 Honda Accord EX V6 excessive brake dust on one wheel.

all 4 pads and rotors where replaced at 104k miles. If that matters. So, about 20k miles ago.

2006 Honda Accord EX V6 excessive brake dust on one wheel.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. If the caliper was stuck or frozen, the rotor would be hot to the point where I wouldn't be able to put my finger on it at all. My brother-in-law has a BMW M3. The caliper on his M3 froze and he could smell the pads heating up and saw smoke. I'll probably jack...

2006 Honda Accord EX V6 excessive brake dust on one wheel.

Not sure how long the car sat. But, I think I'll take the right side wheel off, clean the brake rotor with brake cleaner and some sandpaper, clean the caliper up, re-grease the pins, clean the wheel up, and see if the wheel gets caked up with brake dust again.

2006 Honda Accord EX V6 excessive brake dust on one wheel.

So, I am assuming that means the caliper isn't frozen? Might just have all that brake dust on that one wheel because of the corrosion on the rotor.

2006 Honda Accord EX V6 excessive brake dust on one wheel.

I got to work. I felt the right side brake disc, which felt hotter than the left side brake disc. Also looks like the right side disc is messed up compared to the left side. No lip on either rotor. I think the brakes where done not too long ago.

2006 Honda Accord EX V6 excessive brake dust on one wheel.

Caliper seems like an easy replacement. But this is a midwestern car. So, I highly doubt it'll be easy to remove the bolts 😂

2006 Honda Accord EX V6 excessive brake dust on one wheel.

We shall see if it's the caliper sticking today. Ordered a IR temperature gun last night. That should be here today. But, lll physical check the temperature of both rear wheels after I drive to work to see if I notice a temperature difference

2006 Honda Accord EX V6 excessive brake dust on one wheel.

Well, that's one way of finding out. I can do that when I arrive at work.

2006 Honda Accord EX V6 excessive brake dust on one wheel.

I order an IR temperature-sensing gun from Amazon. It'll be here tomorrow. I'll probably use the IR gun when I get off of work(drive home) and see if there is a crazy difference in temperature between the rear right rotor and rear left rotor. What would be considered a "crazy" temperature...

Never paid much attention. Will take a look tomorrow after my drive to work

2006 Honda Accord EX V6 excessive brake dust on one wheel.

I don't feel any dragging. So, I am assuming the caliper is not sticking.

2006 Honda Accord EX V6 excessive brake dust on one wheel.

Basically take the pins out, clean them with brakes cleaner throw some grease on them and call it a day?

2006 Honda Accord EX V6 excessive brake dust on one wheel.

I picked up this 2006 Accord EX V6 last month with /121.5k miles on it. Put about 2k miles on it. So far so good. What I did recently notice is the rear right wheel collects way more brake dust than the other 3. The car brakes fine. I don't feel like the brake is dragging or smell anything odd...

CVT fluid change amount for 2018 CR-V drain and fill?

I just did a drain and refill on my dad's 13 Accord. I don't remember how much I used(I did it at 93k~ miles I think) but I wouldn't use anything other than OEM Honda CVT fluid
