    Fish Oil

I know nothing about the product listed. I do believe he is right when saying the fish oil does very little for the LDL or HDL levels. It is primarily for the triglyceride reduction. To raise HDL, I take 2 grams or more of Niacin in the form of Nicotinic Acid (not the flush-free formula). To...

    S&W SD9VE or SD40VE

Bought one for my son for Xmas. Originally he was liking the S&W M&P. We shopped thru the Glocks, Sigs, and Rugers. We came back to S&W strictly because it fit his hand better than the others. When it came down to final selection between the SD40 ($300) vs the M&P 40 (for just under $500), it...

    Fish Oil

If I remember this correctly, Flax (and many plants) contains ALA Omega 3 fatty acids. Fish oil contains the DHA and EPA omega 3 fatty acids. I believe it is the DHA and EPA fatty acids that are proven to provide cardivascular benefit. Also, I believe that either DHA or EPA (but not both) can be...

    G-Oil 5W/30 - 5132 Miles - 2005 Toyota Sienna

It appears the new G-Oil formula is for real. Calcium looks huge. TBN has several thousand miles in it yet. I do not think either G-Oil or QS Defy use sodium in the addpack. It seems as though you have small amount of both sodium and potassium. Maybe something to watch.

I want to compare the OLM with your results using two different oils: Avg trip is 25 miles (3 miles @ 25mph, 10 miles @ 45mph, 12 miles @ 60mph) and 25,000 miles yearly First what Saab(GM) may have used setup the OLM: 2006 Saab 9-7x 5.3 with say Valvoline White Bottle 5w-30 SL Secondly, what...

    Yuengling coming to MI?

Years ago, when I worked the Northridge earthquake, the bar we hung out in carried Ying on the import list and it commanded a lofty price. I dont know if it was in normal distribution or if this bar just had in bootlegged cross country.

Mag1 or Mobil 1 HM A3/B4 oils for next oil change?

One of the two Jettas in the household is a 2.Slow. 2001 and it burned thru about 2-3 quarts every 5000 mile OCI. Just started the 3rd consecutive OCI on a 50/50 mix of Nextgen 5w-30 and Nextgen 10w-40. Figured that mix should wind up with an HTHS of 3.3-3.4 so close enough to the 3.5...

    Anyone have the Taurus Judge?

Friend of mine has one. Long cylinder may be a potential impediment to accuracy with shorter pistol rounds, but who really cares in this gun. They are just plain fun to shoot.

    Fish Oil

My family history says I will die of a heart attack due to high cholesterol causing plaque and blocking off arteries. Doctor wanted me to take cholesterol reducing drugs if on my next visit my cholesterol and tryglicerides were still elevated. I started taking high doses of fish oil (like 9g...

As long as KCJeep wasn't pushy and well intentioned, I don't see anything wrong with offering a bit of advice if the guy looked like he was lost. But then again, I still hold the door for women, so what do I know these days.

Would you recommend anything other than M1 0w40?

If you really feel like it, you could always substitute a qt of M1 0w-30 for a qt of the 0w-40. I'm not sure there would really be any benefit though. If its the vehicle in your sig, you have warranty issues to consider being a 2012.

Would you recommend anything other than M1 0w40?

In the link below is some chi-chat about G-Oil in the VW/Audi turbos. Also search posts from Zanzabar as he probably has the most info posted on G-Oil in a 1.8t. I have run Castrol Edge 5w-40, Castrol SynBlend 10w-40, and G-Oil mixed to increase HTHS to over 3.5. I keep the OCIs to 5000 miles...

READ PLEASE! 5w20 vs 5w30 engine life? opinions ?

In my mind if: Vehicle A running 5w-30 has a 300,000 mile potential and 5w-20 actually does reduce engine life by 1/3 then Vehicle A engine life is reduced to 200,000. Then this exercise is only relevant if you keep the car and the rest of the car doesn't fall apart around the engine. This...
