Mercedes: 6940 or 8.3 months

Not bad!!!!

Edited the numbers with the updated ones you had sent.

I know that I get to 0.7-1% soot, IIRC, at 7500 miles on the MB, so that seems sound.

The BMW 135i is anybody's guess. I dont put enough miles on it to matter, but what's the basis for 6.7 months?

The Saab has an oil to coolant cooler, and per UOA and the OLM, can go two years and around 15000 miles.

The VW OM recommends 10k mile OCIs on a VW 502 oil.

The rudimentary OLM in my 318i goes to zero at a little more than 6k, but not far.

So only the Saab is off, the others really seem sound per my experience.

Try this one: 1994 Toyota Previa, 2.4L, M1 10w-30 standard.

Good stuff!

Without oil tank factored in: 11121 or 13.3 months

I got to go to work everyone. Keep posting and ill get to them!

Id say you are spot-on for the saab and the toyota! Both will do that just fine, verified by UOA!

Interesting! That is almost exactly the OCI I use for each of those cars. Yes, the Taurus is OHV.

2003 Acura 3.2TL
J32A1 Engine , 102k miles ( if this makes any difference )
5w20 Grade ( SJ or Higher )

Wow, right on with how I was going to run it, very nice.

I want to compare the OLM with your results using two different oils:

Avg trip is 25 miles (3 miles @ 25mph, 10 miles @ 45mph, 12 miles @ 60mph) and 25,000 miles yearly

First what Saab(GM) may have used setup the OLM: 2006 Saab 9-7x 5.3 with say Valvoline White Bottle 5w-30 SL

Secondly, what I am using in it today: 2006 Saab 9-7x 5.3 with QSUD 5w-30 SN

WOW...weird thing is, I've never done a UOA, but the 8k mark is usually my ballpark cutoff with every oil change, there really isn't a rhyme or reason, but that is what the 1/2 way mark tends to be on my OLM. That's with Mini 5W-30 and Castrol Edge 5W-30 synthetic. Cool info!!!

This makes me want to get a UOA on this Amsoil when I service the car next, just to see how this engine really is on oil. I wish I would have done so with my last fill of Mini/Castrol, that oil had 7k on it with (2) track days (1.5qts of make-up Castrol). Thanks for doing this randomhero!!!

all SN

Neon: 6360 or 7.6 months
Vibe: 5836 or 7 months

So I guess I'll stick with my 5kmi/6mo whichever comes first.

Cool idea!

Car - 2007/Ford/Focus/2.0L Duratec DOHC

Oil - Motorcraft 5w20 API SN

I will be switching to Castrol Edge Titanium 0w20 SN next, and would love to hear your calculation for that oil as well if possible.

I use mobil super 5k because it is cheaper than mobil 1.
