New to me Accord, oil questions..

Q1 It does not matter they are both a 30wt at operating temperature! Q2 Never, Fix the leaks if you have any. M1EP or PP/PU are very good choices and are available at Walmart. I never use a 5w30 because of the viscosity improver's used to build them, i prefer 10w30 or a 0w30 syn. What would i...

Opinions Needed. More "stuff" on ATF drain bolt!

I have had 5 Honda's this is nothing out of the norm! I just did a drain and fill on my 92 Accord wagon and my 97 Acura Cl this morning, they both had this fine sediment on the magnets. I have come to realize that this is normal for a Honda tranny! It use to bother me now it doesn't. I have well...

    MC5K or MC Blend

Can't go wrong w/ either of them. I would run the MC Blend in a 5w20. I used it in my daughters (2 of them) 99 Civic Lx before the younger one totaled it in January. That engine will run on anything from 5w40,10w30,5w30 to 5w20 as i have used all those grades at one time or another. Joe

    Schaeffer 5w-20, 6500 Miles, '04 Acura TL

Can I ask why are you using a 15w40 oil in an engine speced for 5w30? No wonder your oil pressure was high. The thicker the oil the harder it is to pump. Joe
