The Endurance & Amsoil are the same filter. This particular Amsoil filter had sloppy glue & slightly less media by one pleat. I’d venture a guess that if I did 10 of each they’d average out to even.

The Fram/Amsoil primary pleats are softer & slightly thicker than the Donaldson primary layer. The secondary layer on the Amsoil/Fram is FAR thinner than the Donaldson secondary layer. The Donaldson primary does have a smoother or more uniform look to it but to the touch it feels denser and not...

It’s not easy to tell in pictures but the Donaldson core is warped. The bottom is shifted over to one side by at least 1/4” or more.

I used my phones light but it wasn’t good enough to see if there was wire backing or not. Here’s a couple more pictures of the Donaldson media. The secondary layer is nearly as thick as the primary:

First for myself was a Napa filter for the 289 in my old 66 Mustang. Don’t remember if it was a gold or silver. Oil was Napa 20/50 or Chevron Supreme 20/50. Used both & don’t remember which went in first.
