How to stop cement from sweating in spring?

This happens in our carport that has sides and the back enclosed with the front open. It also caused some severe rust on the bottoms of several of my BBQ smokers that are stored along the side of the carport when I had covers on them. After discovering the rust, I quit putting the covers on...

What are you working on today?

On Monday my fiancé's stepdad brings over their 2021 Subaru Forester because the CEL was on and the display said that the Eyesight system was disabled and there were some other lights on in the cluster. I hook the scanner up and there are a bunch of codes in it but most of them were history...

ODB readers: Which would you go for?

I would not buy a scanner that doesn't have bi-directional controls. You can rule out a lot of things with a bi-directional scanner and determine if something is working or not or if the wiring to a component is good or not.

    New tool thread

That is a nice kit. I bought it when it first came out. They also have some additional cables that you can buy that doesn't come in the Master kit. I used mine the other day when diagnosing a cooling fan that wasn't coming on.

ODB readers: Which would you go for?

I have the Otofix D1 and it's pretty slow and super slow when doing updates but it does do quite a bit. I prefer the Launch based scan tools over Autel though.

Female Neighbor Takes 2018 Corolla to the Stealership for 100k Service

He just pays their bills because he can't work on any of his own stuff and doesn't know anything about fixing something unless he read about it on the internet.

I can't sleep in the heat either these days. We usually have our AC about 70-71 at night.

Never ever had a car with a working AC

Growing up we didn't have AC in our vehicles or our house. When I went to college the dorm I was in didn't have AC either. It wasn't until my second year of college did I move into a dorm with AC. I didn't have a vehicle with working AC until 1993 when I bought a new S10 4x4. Every vehicle...

Did i harm my new car with early oil change?

In 1998 I bought a new Silverado K1500 with the 5.7L. I changed the oil early at around 1,200-1,400 miles and it's always used some oil since new. Truck now has about 148,000 miles on it. In 2014 I bought a new Mustang GT and changed the factory oil at the one-year mark and at about 4,500...

2017 F150 pickup---- anyone might be able to suggest the drivetrain and trim level?

My fiancé owns a 2017 F150 with the XLT package that she bought new. Nothing very fancy. Hers has the 5.0L in it. Truck has around 56,000 miles on it and has been reliable other than the AC clutch exploded at around 32,000 miles and because of the age of the truck at the time, it was not...

2012 Kia Sportage, AC not blowing nearly as cold as 2 months ago.

I got my 609 certification back in 2006 so that I could buy R12 as it was required back then and one of my vehicles used it.

2012 Kia Sportage, AC not blowing nearly as cold as 2 months ago.

Replacing the parts is usually not the hard part unless they are in difficult areas to access or you are not mechanically inclined. Having the right equipment to vacuum the system down and to recharge it to factory specifications and knowing how to use the equipment and knowing what pressures...

It's a good possibility that your compressor is bad. Your low side is pretty high and your high side is low for your outside ambient temperatures.

    Gravity brake fluid flush

I've rarely done the gravity bleed method and in a couple of instances where I had to replace some brake lines, gravity bleed did not work at all. In those instances, the vacuum bleed method also did not work, and I had to have a partner pump the brake pedal to get it to bleed. I've have...
