I agree, but I would still say this last run was a good one. The truck is used as a daily driver that tows a 15k pound or more equipment trailer on a regular basis. There was also a trip to Texas and back from Florida towing a lighter trailer on this run.
That’s what I’ve heard. I will be doing the EGR cleaning as soon as I am able to. Toyota supposedly put updated rings in for the 15 model year which seems to have worked as it has not consumed any noticeable amount of oil since I’ve changed it. Thanks for the heads up.
The moly is definitely high. I found a few oil change receipts in the glove box and it looks like it might have been Valvoline advanced full synthetic.
Good afternoon, I recently picked up a used 2015 Toyota prius with 148k miles. The maintenance required light was on when I bought it from the previous owner so I figured I would send a sample off to Blackstone when I changed it. Unknown oil type and run time as title states.
Good afternoon everyone, attached is a 10k run of Valvoline Premium blue extreme 5w-40 as the title states. Blackstone mislabeled as 15w40. On the same report are some previous UOAs that I haven't posted yet:
5/20/2020-2,100mile run on factory fill (made a thread with this UOA)
1/1/2021- 5,000...
Good to know. It’s actually the first diesel pickup that I’ve owned and I’m more than impressed. I had a 2014 F150 with the 3.5 Ecoboost before this truck and a Silverado 1500 with the 6.2 before that and this 6.7 impresses me every time I pull with it.
I have no doubt I could’ve taken the IOLM out to 0% without issue. But my use falls under the severe category and I had a long trip towing coming up so I decided to change it out early to a xW-40 oil.
Thank you BeerCan, I’ve been following your reports and considering going back to a 15w40 myself. I’m in Tampa Fl so cold weather is not a concern. I collected samples from the motorcraft 15w40 that I ran next and then the Rotella T6 5w40 both with motorcraft filters. I will post those results...
Hello, long time reader and first time poster here. Attached is a UOA of the factory fill in my 2019 F250 with the 6.7. I will post the rest of the reports when I get them back from Blackstone as the truck has almost 15k miles now.
