In Canada most people like DST becuase in peak of winter sun is out by 4pmish or sooner as you head up north.... however there is 1 problem during late Fall and Winter Months the Sun rises late to begin with and now it will rise an hour later and this is always stressful for parents to see their...
@jetman - Hi there, admire your zeal for Testing and Reporting on forum, but I am lost and still not able to understand neither your choice of oil (both weight & a diesel rated oil) nor what you are trying to determine? Appreciate if you can shed some light on what is that you are trying to get...
Liqui Moly, Fuchs, Motul all of them have LL-01FE oil but you will have to find a local supplier/seller. I would try going to their US websites and see if that provides any local leads...

Is there an oil leak issue? All gaskets inspected? I have noticed that you had to top up 1 to 2 quarts for each of your OCI's... is your coolant fresh and up to proper levels? Spark plugs keeping up? The reason I raise these questions... despite relatively short OCI (milage wise), you had to top...
What oil have you gone with? If you feel little uneasy about 40wt oil... I suggest you try (QSFS or any SP rated synthetic) 10W30 and see how it goes... Its a good compromise dor this engine it seems...
I'm not going to give any suggestions as you have already received 7 pages of it, but I do share your sentiment and I too have felt it here that there is no FAVOURITE Oil nor there is a clearly DISLIKED oil at the moment on the forums. If you go all the way back and up till now you will see that...
Unless your car is modified I do no think you need 0W40 oil, neither it gets that cold in MD! I would stick to any SP rated synthetic 5W-30... this engine will last forever, can't say about cvt tranny and rest of the car though!
Unfortunately Valvoline EP is not widely available (no where to be seen in Canada) nor is seen to go much on sale+rebates like Mobil or Penzoil products, I would love to have Valvoline EP in my garage on the oil shelf! Yes it has a stellar add-pack as well, but I am not sure if the base oil is...
I believe they both are same oil (if not almost similar) with Maxlife has some extra seal conditioners, if you do not have oil burn and oil leak issues, I say you do not need MaxLife, many people out there prefer to use HM oils after their engine has racked up 100K+ miles, I do not subscribe to...
I am baffled how there has been no drop in TBN after 10k km/6K miles of usage (i do see you topped up 0.8L), given your high quality gas, mostly hwy miles, mostly high speed driving, M1 0W40 seems to fit the bill perfectly and no need to worry given its not a Asian turbo engine... This oil will...
