Event today no LDI oil can compete with this kind of add-pack... its overloaded with goodness I must say!
Not an extended drain oil but the new Valvoline EP oil has an almost identical add pack pretty sure the only big difference is Valvoline has about half as much boron
Unfortunately Valvoline EP is not widely available (no where to be seen in Canada) nor is seen to go much on sale+rebates like Mobil or Penzoil products, I would love to have Valvoline EP in my garage on the oil shelf! Yes it has a stellar add-pack as well, but I am not sure if the base oil is as great as well...
I mean do we really know what the base oil used is with amsoil? With that said I used to solely use amsoil but it’s not worth it anymore it’s almost $11 a quart now for preferred customers, most newer engines can’t go 25k miles on an OCI without fuel dilution knocking the oil out of grade. I just picked up a jug of Valvoline EP at Wally World for $22 on rollback
The Valvoline has more moly, too...300ppm.
