My 6.7 Cummins is having a daily regen. Do I need to worry about oil dilution?

There is a known issue whereby non-OEM air filters cause frequent regens anmd CEL’s especially in the 2022 and 2023 models. Something to do with overly restrictive filter media. Even MOPAR and the dealers are confused on the correct part number. Bottom line, you either want the MOPAR filter...

    Ram 2500 6.4 vs. F-250 7.3 Gas

With an apples to apples comparison between Ford and Ram, with the only big difference being the 7.3 vs the 6.4, I’d say no way. Not worth the premium for the Ford. Seems like you’re finding what I did. I got a Ram Cummins for the same price that I could have gotten a Ford 7.3. And got a higher...

    Ram 2500 6.4 vs. F-250 7.3 Gas

Between what I’ve seen of Ford dealers marking up their F250’s, and RAM dealers still taking several thousand off of MSRP, they may find that they can get a RAM 2500 with the Cummins for very close to what they can get a Ford 7.3 for. That was what I ended up with for that reason. I know this...

2020 Silverado 5.3 rental report. Ohhhh Boyyyyyyy :(

For the new T1 trucks, suspension is a very common complaint on the truck boards. Specifically, the factory shocks are well know to bounce and porpoise excessively.

2020 Silverado 5.3 rental report. Ohhhh Boyyyyyyy :(

Did the rental truck have the off-road Z71 package? My 2019 Sierra has the X31 package (same as Chevy Z71) with Rancho shocks. They’re pretty horrible. Bounce and porpoise like crazy. Many are replacing with Bilstein 5100’s and have better results. I hadn’t done so myself (yet).

    McKee’s Hydroblue

$1000 to correct a mess left from a ceramic “spray and rinse” product!!?? Somebody is taking you for a ride. I recently messed up applying a very similar product by doing it the sun. Yeah it was a mess and a bit of a pain in the butt to remove, but came off with relative ease when I hit it with...

    Water spot remover...what actually works?

I have battled water spots on virtually every vehicle I’ve owned over the past several decades. I HATE THEM!! And I’ve tried probably 75% of the suggestions in this thread. Some don’t work at all, some work to various degrees. Then a few months back I splurged on some expensive 3M glass...

    Kia Optima evap codes

We took the car back to the same mechanic, as they agreed to do additional diagnosis for no additional charge. They called and said that they found a very small leak and want to replace the charcoal/vapor cannister and a sensor, both of which require removing the fuel tank. They said they cannot...

    Kia Optima evap codes

My son has a 2007 Kia Optima 4 cylinder with a couple hundred thousand miles. It's due for the CA smog inspection, but has the CEL on. Codes are P0455 (large evap peak) and P0451 (evap pressure sensor range). Our first reaction was to replace the gas cap with a new Stant. No luck, code came...

    2016 Ford F-150 Engine Question

I just sold my 2014 F150 with the 3.5 EB and bought a 2016 model with the 5.0. While the motor change wasn't the only difference I was chasing, I did make the 5.0 a non-negotiable. The EB had gobs of power and all, but it was the most twitchy motor I've ever owned. I suppose it's common with FI...

Clay barring the new car. Any tips?

There are a few methods of claying a car. The traditional method is as you described above; wash and then clay. There's also an alternative method where you clay AS YOU wash. Be sure to use a car shampoo that has a high level of lubricity. I absolutely LOVE the Duragloss shampoo due to its...

Car follows grooves in the highway

Thanks guys. I'll return to the factory-recommended pressure of 30psi and see if that helps.
