Guessing what oil went in: I think its dexos1 Gen2, because notice calcium is low (Mg high). Should be good oil from a GM dealership.

Dipstick color sampling. Old oil always looks darker. It would easily show up on a paper towel, known as a "hillbilly UOA".
Friend of mine got a used BMW from a Ford dealership, and he said they admitted they just put in 5w30 bulk oil (no LL-01). The horror of it!! Dogs & cats living together! ... I told him its fine, just change it out in 5k miles because its not for long drains, and the lower HTHS only meant he shouldn't be driving it hard, which, most poeple with a 5-series just use it as a status symbol (his goal), not a track animal.
