This morning I went to open the door on my Lucerne and the handle came off I'm assuming because it snowed yesterday melted and froze last night. I looks like the inserts in the handle that the screws screw into came out. It appear this is a bit of a problem on the cars that use this type door handle since it's all plastic.

Once I get ti fixed is there any thing you can put on the seals to keep them from freezing to the metal door?

Gummi Pflege.......mmmmmmmmmm. Nothing looks better than Gummi Pflege treated rubber door seals.

I smear NAPA sil glyde on all door, trunk, etc. seals and some engine rubber every other year. Also good as brake and dielectric grease. Super-useful stuff, and cheap.

I thought that was a spelling mistake?

It's all coming back to me now, I clicked on that link and Amazon tells me I bought some of that back on November 19, 2012. I bought if to restore my rear window seal on my old 99 LeSaber that was cracking and fading. It didn't work very well but I'm thinking it was to far gone.

NAPA sil glyde looks good and I can pick it up right away.

Stopped by my mech and he said it was a common problem with GM, any way getting it fixed Friday and want to get the seals ready.

Thanks all!

Cool. I just bought some of this Gummi stuff to put on my truck door seals before the snow flies. I just replaced both sides with new seals. Didn't no they made stuff for weatherstripping. Hopefully with this stuff the new ones will fair a little better.

And has anyone used this stuff before? It says it is silicone free, which makes me think, it likely isn't as good as a silicone based product?

I would not use the WD40. The other stuff is probably a better choice.

Nextzett Gummi Pflege is considered a top notch product by many. The tube will last a long time.

You can use Gummi Pflege on weatherstripping of exterior doors, refrigerator door gaskets and pretty much any rubber seal. Don't forget all your seals on your car, including hood seals, lift gate, sunroof etc.

I was surprise to see it listed as a good product to use? I never got it a thought before but I rarely use WD on anything other than to get stickers and the like off.

I may try the other stuff but I am wondering how good it can be without silicone in it?

If the seals are dirty it might a good idea to clean them first. I use Meguiar's 39 that is a good rubber cleaner and leaves absolutely no residue. I use it on my Weathertech rubber floor mats and it brings back the tackiness.
