If there is no vacuum at all, then there is some obstruction in the pcv system. This is not very likely or you would find a lot of oil on the throttle body plate.

If the engine suffers from blow-by past the piston/rings, the oil will turn darker faster than usual and you might find black/carbon/soot in the pleats of the oil filter. A quart of oil every 5,500 miles is not really excessive although a little disconcerting at that mileage.

For a 2007 model it is unlikely that the pcv passage from engine to intake manifold is obstructed but it is possible.

The orifice where crank case gases enter the intake manifold can be seen in this link.

I tried that with the port on the valve cover and I don't recall feeling vacuum. The throttle body plate was most clean on the front. The backside and the edges of the body some oily gunk but not a lot of it, just a thin layer. I changed the oil yesterday and the oil filter looked fairly normal, definitely no carbon/soot in the pleats that I could see...

While we are at it.... What is the difference with these products? Barryman's B12 Chemtool, Motor Treatment (Walmart) gumout Tune-up and SeaFoam..... Price in same order at Walmart.... $3.17, $4.83, $$6.47 and $6.97.

I like SeaFoam and generally use it in my gasoline tank, have not tried it through the intakes....

I think seafoam is overpriced for what it is.

Oil , maybe some naptha, and IPa ( Isopropyl alcohol). Oil up to 95% IPA up to 25%

B-12 seems to be a much stronger solvent for the money.

Acetone up to 90%
Toluene up to 10%
2-Butoxyethanol up to 10%

No oil in this.

Seafoam makes a nice smoke show when burned,( due to the oil) has some ipa solvent. But why pay twice as much for a weaker solvent with oil , over B-12?

Gumout
Naptha, mineral oil and some ipa and a secret ingredient.

I always use berryman b-12 if i want a solvent.

Completely agree. I switched to using B-12, also.

If you want to add alcohol to your fuel, you can buy a whole gallon at home depot for $15. much cheaper per dose than seafoam, but b-12 is a better solvent.

I agree. Seafoam is not really a good choice. B12 and other modern solvents are much better and actually CLEAN something. Seafoam is up there with Marvel Mystery Oil.....worthless.
