Since the Isle of Man TT is getting closer, I thought I'd post a fantastic lap on-board with Michael Dunlop from last year. He set an even faster lap record after this lap. On the longer straights, the fastest bikes are reaching 205+ mph. I got the chance to meet Michael and several other top racers at the TT last year. He's a nice guy.

What really gets me, is that they race for 6 laps as well. I guess they must forget the risk while they are running, but to do that over an hour and a half...

The length of the race depends on the class.

The Superbike and Senior TT races are 6 laps.

The Supersport and Superstock class races are 4 laps.

The Sidecar and Lightweight TT class races are 3 laps.

The TT Zero challenge (Electric Bike) is 1 lap.

The fastest lap is usually the last one as it's the only full flying lap they do. They do 2 laps on a tank of fuel, so lap 1 is from a standing start, lap 2 involves slowing into the pits, laps 3 and 4 repeat 1 and 2, lap 5 repeats laps 1 and 3 which leaves lap 6, where they race to the flag.

I love TT week - never been but always watch as much coverage as I can.

A little insight into a fast lap from the 'King of the Mountain' John McGuinness.

And on-board for a lap.

I like this one more than the one with Michael Dunlop, as I think you get a bit better sense of the speed.
