It does appear that most non-GrpIII synthetics combine pao with poe or other polymer esters in a mix.
I just got Joe Gibbs HVL oil which is 1/2 mPAO, 1/4 POE, and 1/4 GroupIII, so all 3 synthetics are there.

Reading, as best I can, a Penrite Racing MSDS, it looks to be about up to 60% PAO in the 10W40 version. So not majority ester.

I don't know if any commercial engine oil is majority ester.

I tend to follow the specs of the finished product as a sign of quality, I look for stuff like A5/B5 or A3/B4 or BMW LL-01 or Porsche A40, etc. This is a real test of the finished product, which is more than just the chemistry of one component.

What's wrong the website.

Penrite is excellent oil, too. If it was still import into the US, I'd use it.

Can't open the pages on Android.
