I was changing the spark plug on my Genuine scooter, usually I go till hand tight, then a quarter turn. I got it hand tight then when I put the wrench on it the thing felt pretty tight, I gave it a little juice and it seemed to kind of break free and I went way more than a quarter turn, but it was pretty violent. I hope I didn't do a number on the aluminum threads, but it sure felt like I did.

Just like my dad used to call me, "Bull in a China Closet."

If it turns out I did do damage to the threads I'll have to figure out what to do to remedy the situation.

Look into a "thinSert or Helicoil thread fixer. You could take the cylinder head off and take it to a machine shop or even a Scooter repair shop to fix it. You are not the first one to be Ham Fisted. Ed

Bet you worked at Wal Mart Tire Lube Express

Sounds like you stripped it. I sometimes use these for old VW air cooled bugs on small engines. On second thoughts give the head to a pro.
