Don't get your hopes high. No motor oil is going to add metal back that has worn away, fix rock hard or crumbled valve seals. Just keep it topped off with the cheapest oil you can find. Make sure in addition to the PCV, to check the plumbing for the PCV valve for blockage and or leakage.
This statement is so true.
The oil pan gasket my cousin just recently replaced had NO RTV near it, or, on it from the factory. It probably had been leaking since day 1. When he pulled the pan, which took almost 30 minutes to break the RTV seal, the half moon oil pan gasket that goes on the rear of the pan, was hard as a brick! It actually crumbled, it was so brittle!
Repair the leak!
