Oil for 2000 BMW Z3 2.3 engine

I prefer an oil I can get at walmart. What do you think about Mobil 1 HM 10/30? Sure be nice to use the same oil that I use in my truck. Or should I think about a little heavier oil for use in the deep south? Thanks

M1 0w-40 is the right oil for your car, available at most walmarts, too.

But M1 HM 10w-30 should work fine as well.

It is typical European engine, which means heavier oil. Go with M1 0W40
You can also use Shell Rotella T6 5W40 with no issues. That is 90's engine and those European engines from that period LOVE heavy oil!
