Wal Mart Super Tech Full Synthetic Oil

Steve,

I have high mileage vehicles, as do my children (I change their oil). I use Mobil 1 10W30 HM in my Avalon. I use Purolator Pure One oil filters. I have 225,000 miles on the car, and it is quiet and silky smooth. The oil costs $22 for 5 quarts at WalMart. I get the Pure One filters at Advance for $6.50. For years I changed oil and filter every 5,000 miles, but after seeing the UOA's and reading on this site, I am increasing it to 7,000 miles. If I were not going full synthetic, I would (and do use on my son's car) Maxlife blend. It will easily go 5,000 miles and costs $15.50 for a 5 quart jug at WalMart. These are two of the finest oils around, and the Purolator Pure One filter is about as good as it gets for an oil filter.

Napa synthetic is on sale now a $3 per quart. Far better choice, pick up a few cases, and when Napa goes on sale again, stock up again. Valvoline makes Napa synthetic.

same w/ s tech dino.
the prices keep inching up, and the cost spread b/t SuperT and national brands narrowing.
super t is a good day in day out value.
but the smart shopper can do better if he shops promotions for national brands

I personally think the supertech dino is a good deal. $8 for a 5qt jug, at least up by my Walmart.
