If you have to ask, don’t ask…
Hey folks,

I’ll be running some VRP this spring on the Sienna and looking for some input on the filter.

I bought the VRP earlier this year for our previous Sienna with 85K but it was totaled shortly after. So I’m going to use it now on the new (to us) Sienna which will have ~ 35K come spring time. I already have two OEM filters on hand. Thinking about picking up something with better efficiency just for the VRP.

‘23 Sienna Hybrid
Projecting ~ 35K miles /OCI ~5K miles
Mixed city/hwy driving
Spring time weather in Texas

Thoughts?

Most companies aren't sharing the efficiency of the particular filter you want to use. Good thing though since Toyota's Sienna's seem to last quite some time on anything really. Pick any of the forum favorites or not & run it.

When ever I run HPL EC30 in the 1:5 ratio, I always use a Fram Ultra oil filter since it has a lot more holding capacity than a normal filter.
It's extra capacity can help prevent the filter from going into bypass in case the filter starts filling up with deposits from the cleaning process.

Since you mentioned “something else” ; I’ll vote for HPL PCEO

You could consider the Purolator Boss, or lesser Purolator models when the N1 runs out. I’m gravitating to those as long as louvers inside look ok, and they continue to say USA.
The Toyota has bypass valve possible oil leaks like Fram. Even though in practice the clean running engines shouldn’t be impacted, it still a defect in my book. Plus not USA which is a big factor to some people.

I have 4 PBL14476 oil filters that fit many Toyotas with spin on filters. The louvers are all wide open on all of them.
