Has anyone else noticed ridiculously slow Youtube performance over the past few days, particularly today? It won't buffer long videos and it just stops. My internet/Youtube speed tests check out fine.

F5? What does it do? Too afraid to press it myself LOL.

I haven't noticed any problems, but it could be slow because lots of people on looking for recently posted vids of the Boston Marathon bombings. I've occasionally noticed slow internet during holidays with all the online shoppers.

I've noticed that YouTube performance has been poor over the last few months. I first thought it was wireless performance from our router. But I'd go to the desktop computer (plugged into the router) and it was slow there, too. Anything else loads super fast. I have a YouTube caching app on our iPad that I use to watch YouTube videos now...it essentially downloads the video to the iPad and I can watch it from the iPad. I tried the YouTube channel app on our Wii and found the same thing...poor video performance and a lot of buffering. Netflix streams great.

I've been less than impressed with Google services in general lately. Their Latitude app simply quit working (on both our iPhones and my folks' Android phones). YouTube and Gmail has been flaky lately for me. And they've also turned off the Gmail Exchange service to new connections, so you can't use the Exchange email connection to retrieve your Gmail anymore. Disappointing to me.

I fixed my problem by using a VPN, so on my end it has to be a problem with Comcast (THE WORST COMPANY IN THE HISTORY OF PLANET EARTH). I've read ISPs are throttling Youtube traffic, or there is possibly a broken connection in the network somewhere.

You may be on to something. I have noticed that it's very difficult to get a YouTube video to play on my phone when I'm on wi-fi at home (TWC broadband). I often switch to 3G to watch YouTube. Come on! 3G is offering better performance than my home broadband service (which until yesterday was 15 MB/s).

It doesn't deauthorize by default. So either the past owner or current owner of your computer deauthorized that setting.

What? I just said I disabled it.

Yap, I went from "fast" comcast to slow DSL, and things are better/faster (except for the phony internet test results).

Yea, it's acting very weird. I can tell when the connection slows way down; it'll act normal and all of a sudden streaming video crawls to a halt or outright stops. I turn the VPN on and it's back to working perfectly. Weird.

Flashplayer settings on my computer have this setting as being permanently disabled / deauthorized. The default setting from Flashplayer should have been downloaded onto your computer in the disabled / deauthorized mode.

That's why I ask if someone changed the settings.

My Flashplayer is 11.7.7. Never had a crash or needed to disable / deauthorize anything in Control Panel/Flashplayer. Don't recall any problem when updated to 11.3 many months ago.
