Your influential vehicle, what started it all?

My grandfathers 1954 Willys jeep. First vehicle that I ever drove/learned to drive. When I was 10

Then my dad showed me the awesomeness of off road trails with his 1987 land cruiser...

70 OLDS cutlas s. Got it when I was 15 for 1k. This was back in 92. I stripped all paint off car and fixing rust spots and what not. My brpther was mechanic and had him redo 350 engine in it. It was nearly done and in primer black when I was 16 and some stupid btch hit me almost head on coming around a turn. Her pos camry didn't appear to have much damage but my olds was messed up bad/totaled.

71 Torino GT 429 CJ. 4 speed. After starting out with a Pinto automatic. Put a Marvin Miller nitrous set up hidden under the stock air cleaner. Didn't blow up like all the local experts said.

1. 1985 Nissan Maxima: My mother had this car while I was a child (I was born in 1984), and I loved it because of the combination of Knight Rider and Tron in the interior. Eventually it became a mechanical pain in the butt, and we all learned the value of a good mechanic. The car had a great engine and automatic transaxle, but not much else was good. In 1994, the T-belt failed, and destroyed the engine, and the loss of that car made me sad. That made me passionatley hate timing belts.

2. Z32 300ZX. I always loved them, and in 1998, I bought a magazine titled "How to get 450HP from a 300ZX" and in there I learned about Mass Air Sensors. I understood it, and that gave me a desire to work on cars.

I also loved the look of the R34 GT-R in that magazine. Sure, the WRX and Lancer Evolution were mentioned and Japan-only, and they were great cars, however, back the they looked too much like a Honda Accord.

Because of all that, every time a "Chevy runs deep" I make fun of it by pointing to myself and saying "Nissan runs deep."

Firebird Trans Am.... 1970-1/2... the white one with blue stripe and shaker hood. 455ci Super-Duty Ram-Air.

Honorable Mention: General Lee, Kitt, Bandit

My owned car list:

1. 79 Firebird 301ci V8... slow as [censored], blue, white vinyl roof
2. 88 Firebird Formula 350... fast, white, red/black interrior
3. 00 Firebird Formula LS1... faster, A4, Silver, T-top, Koni
4. 09-1/2 G8 GXP... fastest, but not by much, A6, Silver, 4-doors

Not the most expensive cars, but a high fun to cost ratio.

My second sister's first husband was in the Army (steady paycheck) and had a succession of great cars. As the family got larger the cars got less awesome.

66 or 67 GTO. This is the first car I got to shift...while sister was driving.
68 Roadrunner.
69 Chevelle SS 396 4spd. He took me out and we did some burnouts and laid rubber.
70 Cuda 340 Auto. Sweet.
The last was a Comet GT. Uninspiring.
The car after that was a VW station wagon. A sad end.

Growing up in Jamaica we got a lot of the English Fords imported to the island...my dad first (and still the best car he had) was a FORD LOTUS CORTINA MK2..silver body with black racing stripe down the side...the roar of those weber carbs and twin cams open exhaust and acceleration is what i remember the most ..he replaced that with an ESCORT Twin cam GT white with green racing stripes..then his final car before we migrated was a Capri MK III 3.0S..black with white stripe..I

1998 3.8 mustang! First car, biggest turd ever, my moms 97 astro with the 4.3 vortec was faster! So I took an m90 from a thunder bird supercoupe and slapped it on, gave it a tune and made 265rwhp and 305rwtq from the stock 125rwhp/156rwtq. Now 5 years later I'm on my 7th stang haha.

Gentlemen, this is Nate, the owner of the '85 GT I've posted pictures of, and now the '87 GT I've posted pictures of.

I've loved cars as long as I can remember and played with all kinds of them as a kid. Heck, I still have all of my hot wheels and matchbox cars from when I was little, even as beat up as they are and I'm almost 45 years old.

I can remember various cars of my childhood such as my mom's 60's something thunderbird or my stepfather's late 60's cougar, our 65 malibu, 65 belair, 59 international truck, early 70's buick, my neighbor's 72 buick skylark, late 60's dodge station wagon, late 60's dodge with a pushbutton tranny, a neighbor's 66 chevy truck.

My first car that I considered cool was my 70 Monte Carlo that I still own today and bought when I was 20 years old.

I'm a car and truck fanatic and wish I had the money and place to buy everything that catches my eye.

My dream is to someday buy a new modern day muscle car such as the Mustang, Camaro, or Challenger.

Wayne
