Your experiences, is "pull me over red" a real thing?

What's having Greek parents have to do with not having blonde hair?
I believe native Greeks have darker hair, curly too. Ever been to a Greek festival? Went once, food is great and so is the scenery..... You can identify as anything nowadays though and have rainbow hair, so there's that.

I go to a Greek restaurant for the Gyro special on Wednesdays but never paid attention to the employees hair color. I though being in the Mediterranean with all that sun, there would be plenty of blond hair.

All I drive is red cars. I haven't been pulled over in decades. I drive over the speed limit, but not wildly or aggressively, and when I spot a cop I slow down. Maybe I'm just really lucky.

From what I read in the news, the color of your skin is a greater determining factor than the color of your car.

Whoever writes those "news" stories assumes that the police know what the drivers look like well before they pull them over. Which I highly doubt in most cases. Sounds like the usual agitprop.

I was pulled over at night one time in my red Corvette. It was a local jerk in a small town and he wrote me a ticket for speeding and said I gunned the car around the corner when I turned. The young cop was a total jerk and I didn't deserve the ticket but paid it anyway. I should have fought it in court because he didn't use his radar but wrote me up for speeding. I don't think the red color affected my ticket though. I have not had any other problems with driving the red car.

I can't say for sure it's a thing, but when I had my red S10 I was pulled over constantly for dumb things. I made a legal u-turn in front of a sheriff and he pulled me over saying it was suspicious 🙃. In my black, green and silver cars I've had since then, haven't been stopped.

I've owned two red cars, lifetime. One of them currently. Neither seemed to attract any unusual police attention. 20 or 30 years ago I had often read or heard the claim that a red car would command a 15% higher resale value. That seems suspect but with decades of one shade of gray or another, a red car may float someone's boat a bit higher.

I think the bottom line is how much attention is drawn to a particular vehicle. I'd be willing to bet that a gray mustang with a loud exhaust and shiney wheels going the speed limit will draw more attention than the red minivan going 15-20 mph over.

My Cherokee XJ was dark gray. People pulled out in front of me all the time, and I constantly had issues with people not seeing me, even when I made the fog lights daytime running lights.

I have been cut off or flat out near run off the road more times in the last 3 months with this white Jetta than I was the previous 3 years with the Passat. I don't know if it's color, smaller sedan or what? Jetta is not that small really, it's just not big.

I once had a VW Golf Mk III winter beater, white, 4 doors. As stock as it could be. But yes, the new fenders (First where rusted away) have get a (decent) rattle can paint shop and the car had some dents here and there. But the car looked o.k. from 20 feet away.
I got pulled over every second weekend. Really. I once told friends about it, they laughed and dont belived it. Until the night when i was the driver and we get pulled over. TWICE. The car had earned the nickname: "The police magnet" afterwards.

At this time, i had a almost new looking, only summer driven Honda del Sol in dark blue. In this car, i got pulled over only once per year, average.
Over the time, i start to mock the police officers a little bit when they pulled me over in the white VW Golf. Me: "Hey, very Suspiciuos car, my little Golf, hmm? " No sir, its a routine control.." "Really? Every second weekend? In my Summer car i only get pulled over once pere year..." "..........." :p

One police office satrted laughing and said: "Honestly, this car looks suspicious!" I replied laughing: "Great, finally a honest police officer!" We both laughed and had a relxed control.

And now.... my new Wnter beater is, again, a VW golf MK III, 2 doors, but this time in dark green. Also a lot of dents, some spots are repainted with a ratlle can, but otherwise stock. Pull overs in 10 years: Maybe 5 if i recall correctly.

Go figure... I think it´s a psychological thing, because german police forces used and still use a dark green colour for emblems, cars, uniforms.
Dark green= Good guy.

Dad and I got pulled over while in his black Raptor going 32 in a 30 while hauling a dead refrigerator to the recycling center. Lol.

I’m assuming a more normal vehicle would have been allowed to pass.

So.....maybe you got pulled over to see if a hose with a valve from the Kegarator is coming into the cab from the back window? Maybe??

One of my brothers had a 1978 Regal coup T top with a 350 4 barrel, headers and a loud exhaust, and wide slicks in the back and sport rims. He was just shy of loosing his license because of all the times he was stopped, then a fuel leak by the carburator burned it down after he put it in a garage he rented. It was brown ( even before the fire ) , not red, but with those sport rims and slicks on a coup with T tops, and loud exhaust, it screamed write me up.

Standing out like that looking like a sport car + him having a lead foot caused him several tickets. He was still going to school and working a lot as a lifeguard at a hotel indoor pool. He could not afford another car, but needed one so our dad told me to find him something used and he would pay for it. I told that brother no more race car. I'm getting you a plain Jane, get you to where you got to go 4 or 6 cylinder no extra power. He said your kidding right? I said no, I'm serious. Found him a used malibu 4 door. At first he complained, then about 6 month later he said it gets great gas mileage compared to the Regal, and he was just shy of loosing his license because of points from tickets when the Regal burned down, and he has not had even one ticket with the malibu.

So part of it is how you drive it, and part is looks. And with a young driver, if it ain't got a lot of power, it might keep them out of trouble.
