Dwight Yoakum and Alan Jackson both have bluegrass albums that are good. Try D. Yoakum covering Prince’s Purple Rain. Try Iron Horse’s covering Metallica in bluegrass. Also their rendition of Rocket Man.

My friend and old co-worker Dennis Witcher has a bluegrass band. His son Gabe has won many fiddle contests over the years and been on the Smothers Brothers show. He has his own band now.

I first saw Alison Krauss/Union Station at a small jazz club in Santa Monica in the early 90‘s. There were less than 20 people in the audience. I felt bad that such amazing musicians were in a genre that would never sell many records. Got that one wrong.
