Recently I moved to a new city (Calgary, AB) where I do not know any good shops. I needed to have my ebrake cables serviced (since they had seized to not using the ebrake enough in Regina).
The car is a 97 Escort with a 5 speed. It has been the most reliable and trouble free car I have ever had!!! I decided to start running the car on Synthetic M1, synthetic ATF for the transmission (it calls for ATF) as well as BMW blue coolant with de-ionized water, like I have in my BMW.
I decided to take the car to Minute muffler and brake to have the service done. I really hate to take the car in, but I do not have a garage nor a place where I can do these things myself, like I used to do back in Regina. The shop charged me 100 CADplus tax to do the repair.
Later that night I had the worst dream, it was the at the shop that I took the car to, had called me back to have som eother small stuff repaired. They staff there had drained the oil and replaced it with conventional oil, and a FRAM filter!! and they also drained the coolant and filled it with regular water and green no-name coolant!!!
I was soo cheesed in the dream, esp. cause they charged me a whoppin $300+ for the job!!!
needless to say I was very heppy when I awoke to find it was just a bad dream!!!
