It's not that you "have to" support "them" you have no choice. If you, like I do and ALL Americans that pay taxes, then these taxes go to government funding of welfare and all the other items the government uses to help the most unfortuneate. Yes, there are those that scam the system but it's your job and mine to report such things if we know they are happening. And, I am sure the government is doing the best they can, with what little manpower and time, to catch these useless POS's!
And yes, I do volunteer my time at a ministry thrift store and I enjoy it very much!
This kind of sums up why it is pointless to have a discussion with you on this topic...you said, "I am sure the government is doing the best they can....". You, my friend, have a very naive and overly trusting opinion of the government. THAT is truly scary and unfortunate.
