You know you are a BITOG'er if....

...you freeze in the morning because you refuse to use the heater because it'll take longer for the engine to warm up

...you can't wait to change your oil again

...your significant other complains about how much you spend on maintenance

...you might have cholesterol but your engine has no sludge

My engine is spotless (thanks M1) and my arteries are too. I drink a little MMO every week to be sure.

You know you are a BITOG'er if....

you look under a brand new vehicle in the showroom to determine how easy it is to change the oil...BEFORE you consider purchasing it. Even if it is a high end Mercedes, BMW or Lexus.

I have read the posts on MMO and no one told me you could take it to reduce cholesterol. What is the correct daily dose? Or do you really mean you only have to take it once a month? The doctor wants me to take statins and everything I hear makes MMO sound safer.

Doesn't take much. Just a few ounces as a maintenance dose each day. When you take it though, don't be too far from the.....well you know.

Likely much cheaper too. I haven't finished up my free sample of Lipitor yet, but my 30 day supply of Pravix was $178.

you know you are a oldschool bitog'er if....

people posting in the wrong forum, and opinion posts(with no factual basis)

bother you.

If... Your wife finds two qts. of differant kinds of oil in the freezer comparing them for the cold temp. slosh test.

That hapened to me this week.

when you go to Wallyworld, Kmart or whatever, you go directly to the oil aisle. On occasion, you may check out the filter section first FWIW--Oldtommy

... a friend/family comes in your garage and says "Wow, you have a lot of oil!", when actually your stash is at an all time low.

You go to change the oil, discover you don't have the filter for that car and go nuts for the rest of the day trying to figure out how you could be so irresponsible.

..you don't stop to help the bum who's broken down on the side of the road with his hood up, but you automatically go through a mental checklist and know you could either:
a) fix the problem in under 15 minutes.
-or-
b) could have prevented the problem in the first place.

You're a BITOGer if you put a few quarts of oil in the freezer to test their cold weather properties, only to forget and find them half a year later.

True story! I forgot about my Valvoline conventional vs. Durablend 5w-30 test. For the record, Durablend was indeed a bit more "sloshy".

I looked under the car at the dealer when we bought our Vue.

The salesman gave me a weird look. Hey, it's MY $24K I'm spending!

However, I stopped freezing in the morning. I wouldn't keep my house at 9F on a cold morning, why should I get into my car that's not warmed up?
