My dad had some old records, pawn shops dont want them, nobody does. I gave them to my girlfriend who traded them in on a ring.

Anyone else got these collecting dust?

Me,I have a huge collection of 60s psych/garage rock. What all did you have in your collection? Anything left? I'd buy any rare 60s rock from you if you still have them. I have a few that are worth several hundred to several grand a piece. Hopefully you didn't give anything valuable away.

Nah,they were old stuff from like Dolly Pardon, etc.
Mainly old Country music records.

I should check to see if mine are worth anything....was keeping them for my kids. Mine are all rock from 60's and 70's and most were only played once to record onto (snicker) eight-track and later, cassette.

There is are all of the Zepplin albums, Hendrix, etc

Zepplin mono promos of the debut lp are worth a fortune,as is a mono of Hendrix' Axis Bold As Love.

Yup,found employment again @ the end of Feb.

Yep, I have LOTS.

Have an original Batman Album... from 1965... in Stereo...

That's worth hundreds...

Texas garage bands are on my top collectable want list. I found a mint original Moving Sidewalks (Billy Gibbons before ZZ Top) lp awhile back for a few bucks.

I used to have a nice Dual (brand name) turntable, but I don't know where it ended up. At the time, I've got a couple of cheapie turntables that convert vinyl to CD though. Honestly, this is sacrilegious to the hi-fi crowd, but I don't really miss vinyl.

I probably have 50 or so, and I still buy them on Ebay from time to time. I have a number of albums (mostly Sinatra, Glenn Miller, etc) that are still sealed.

I'm sure the little MP3 players or phones are fine for their portability, but I'll stick with real, rich music from my turntables and vinyl records.

somewhere over 6000...most "found" at thrifts in the 90s @ 10-20¢/ea
3k classical, 1600 jazz, 1200 rock, 200 blues, a couple hundred "other" including ethnic/world folk music, Shakespeare plays, comedy, poetry and other spoken word lps.

I like vinyl...

I only have a couple thousand+ LPs. Some collectable, few handful are still sealed, but plenty to play.
I mainly use a JVC QL-Y7 turntable > SS pre > tube amp > klipsch horn speakers.
I clean and keep my LPs clean & sleeved. Keep the cartridge in proper alignment, tonearm set etc.
So I still spin a LP once to twice a month, mainly during those winter cold rainy windy days when I don't feel like anything else.

We listen to a growing vinyl collection regularly. There is no way it compares to a good digital recording though. Still, I love the sound and find it quite pleasant. My wife listens to vinyl daily.

Interestingly, on some older CD's there is missing information, or missing treble. Pink Floyd Animals on undamaged vinyl is way better than the CD. Clear, crisp and sharp!

I like the sound of a good tube system too. I find it pleasant too. However, once again, a good modern system will outperform it markedly.

I have exactly one vinyl record. I mistakenly ordered it online, thinking it was a CD, nnot vinyl. It wasn't worth trying to return it because of the shipping charges. I never have played it. Who knows, maybe one day I'll dig my father's old turntable out of the basement and give it a spin.
