Many werent as bad as they made them to be... even the highest of official documents have typos on them.

That said, it is terrible, horrible and ridiculous that things could be written so poorly.

Then again, I highly doubt that most "HR Professionals" would be able to do much better. They are mostly ________ people thinking theyre doing something worthwhile.

Quick, someone send the firm a resume/cover letter written in "pirate talk."

Arrrr, matey, shiver me timbers, there be jobs appearin' 20 points to port. Etc.

The average IQ, at least in the US, is usually determined to 100, with a standard deviation of 15. Most people need to work, regardless of IQ. It's ok to laugh and all, but the correlation between IQ and school completed, incarceration, welfare, poverty, etc., is pretty high, and tragic.

Things are better than they use to. I recall a comment by an English professor that a hazard for actors in Shakespeares' time was slipping on stage, due to drool from the audience :^)

Actually maybe some of those applicants output couldn't be any worse than some of the ad folk's creations if seen lately.

If I see another one of those Apple vs. Windoze ads on TV I'm gonna ralph..........

I recall a New Scientist article (back in the days before they wen't too political, but that's another story).

They said that the average in industrial countries was now closer to 125, as more people are literate and are better educated.

Peaked around 127/128, then rolled back a few points...reality T.V. anyone ?

I think if you wiki I.Q. you'll find that they normalize (or began normalizing) scores so that you get your normal bell curve.

That is, a moron is allegedly smart then he once was ..or the bell curve is a little skewed now.
